Stylematch – Global Fashion Design – for anyone!

Fill your closet with various pieces of clothing!

Most of us love to shop, especially when the recipient is you. The headache with shopping is having to drive around town, looking for just the right color, just the right fit and just the right style. You may have seen a special skirt in your favorite fashion magazine, and even noted the store from which it hails, but maybe you’ve decided to look for something similar from another designer or retailer that is local or closer to you. You want to go in the store, try it on for size and be sure that the look you saw on the model looks just at flattering on you, in person.

Well, the folks at Stylematch Pty Ltd have created an app that lets you browse, select, design and try on outfits – all from the comfort of your home and using your handheld mobile device. The app is called, fittingly enough, Stylematch. When you initially download the app, you will see a neat menu that slides horizontally back and forth to feature the main operations in the app. These include Closet, Outfits, Shop, Virtual Change Room and Favourites. From this menu, you can make your way around your closet, your designs and potential purchases, and even try on before you buy!

Stylematch has a clean and clear interface that gives you a Closet to fill with various pieces of clothing expertly designed and posted on global websites galore. Your job is to browse the open marketplace and place pieces in your closet.  The closet is conveniently categorized into sections that make it easy to find and create outfits for any occasion. Categories include Tops, Bottoms, Dresses, Suits and more, offering places to keep Accessories, Footwear and Outerwear.

To fill your closet, you must shop. Go to the Shop menu item shown at the bottom, and you’ll see several choices readily available, including Shop Women and Shop Men. From there, you will find an endless sea of options to choose from. Most conveniently, Flash Sales heads up the list, in bold, with items from every category that are currently on sale.  So, if you are bargain hunter like me, this is the first place to peruse.

Once you’ve found a few items you like, you can then easily and virtually try them on. You use a downloaded pic of the item you want to try and enter the Virtual Change Room. From there you upload a pic of yourself, and then let the app do the rest. This will give you an instant idea of whether or not the purchase works for you. Once you decide it’s a go, make the purchase and it lands in your closet.

You can use the Outfits portion of the app to bring together different pieces and see how they look. The great thing about Outfits is that you can organize the outfits you make, so it’s easy to find your unique creations. The only downside to this app is its initial presentation. Specifically, the Shop menu item does not show the “Connect” option fully, even though I tried scrolling it up and down. It’s a bit annoying, unprofessional looking and hard to get to. However, the workaround is to select the Connect Menu from the bottom menu option list.
