Can Google Plus Pull Users from Facebook?

The real race has just begun in Social Media

With Google Plus and +1, the search giant has really waged a war for a key role in social media. Can it win? Let us discuss

Without any doubt, Google is a big company in the tech world with its search engine, browser, mobile OS, maps, ad services and all other things, but still it really wants to grab a place in Social Media. The reason is simple, it wants to know what people “like”. Facebook has already achieved this by integrating its button all around in the web.

It is Google’s turn now. It began the first step with the “+1” and let the surfers to share the content they like with their friends and now has come up with a social networking services, that resembles Facebook in most aspects. Google aims to get some market share from its rival with this service.

Why these people give that much importance to social media? The reason is simple… These tech giants want to know who are all using the web and what their preferences are. Then these detailscan be converted to revenue using ad services and other things.

The real issue for Google here is, how can it find people for its social network. The ten percent of the world is already obsessed with Facebook. They won’t leave Zuckerberg’s site without any reason. Yes, Facebook has some privacy issues, but Google is not a saint as it stores even user’s search terms. For Google Plus, it has already made it clear, “We will record information about your activity — such as posts you comment on and the other users with whom you interact — in order to provide you and other users with a better experience on Google services”

Google might have some good plans. It already has an integrated setup, which helps users to sign in for all its services such us YouTube, Orkut and Maps. Still there are few taunting questions. What will happen to Orkut? What is the fate of much-hyped Google Buzz? Let wait for Google to unfold its plan.
