Microsoft has asked its users to dump Windows XP and move on to Windows 7.
Windows XP is the most popular OS of software giant Microsoft. It was released on 2001 and still is used by millions of users. Now Microsoft has called its users to “move on” as there are less than 1000 days of support left for it.
In a blogpost written by Stephen Rose of Microsoft, it said, “Wouldn’t it be great if the glory days lasted forever? But reality is trophies get dusty, records are broken, and what it took to be the best ten years ago, just isn’t enough for today’s standards. Things get better, faster. And eventually, it’s time to move from good enough to something much better.”
Microsoft will support Windows XP till 8 April, 2014, while it plans to release Windows 8 on 2012. After the “retirement date” XP won’t receive security updates and patches from Microsoft. Microsoft’s latest OS Windows 7 was released on 2009, while Vista reached users on 2007.
