Get FriendsWire, Stay Connected on the Go

Experience the full impact of social media!

The combination of smartphones and apps makes everything possible these days. Few of my friends are masters in the art of staying connected, no matter where they are – thanks to Facebook, Twitter and other such social networking apps. Today I have got the chance to check one latest arrival in this area – FriendsWire. Let us see how it works.

FriendsWire asks users to login with their Facebook account, once they have launched this app. Then, it gets them to the default ‘Thumbs’ section, where they could see the thumbnail images of Facebook friends. They can access their posts and status updates just by tapping the photo. FriendsWire can also present them a ‘List’ view.

As it downloads details from the users’ social media pages frequently, this app can work even without active internet connection. I would suggest users the iPad version of FriendsWire rather than the iPhone one. It has an amazing interface that lets users see the photos and videos right in the front cover. They can also share it on social networks such as Twitter and Facebook.

I find one serious limitation in FriendsWire. It needs iOS 5 to run. Yes, it won’t work even with the iPhone 4 unless users update the iOS. Only a fraction of users have iOS in their devices and it could damage the reach of this app. I think developers should think about it and do something to improve its reach. However, if you are not impressed much with the Facebook app, you can give FrindsWire a try.

This app was launched just a few days ago and I don’t find any bugs in it. That is great news for a first version. This app costs USD 0.99 and users need to pay for the monthly subscriptions (USD 0.99) after using this app for a month.

Rating: 8/ 5

Update: Developer’s response for the review – There reason it doesn’t support previous version of iOS it’s because we are using the latest ios5 features inside the app i.e flipping page like a book, built-in twitter functionality
