Personal hygiene is very important for maintaining good health. You can’t expect your kids not to get a little dirty during the day, but you can certainly help them learn some hygienic habits. Yes, you can find an app for this at the App Store.
Pepi Bath, developed by Pepi Play is an iPhone role-playing app that teaches hygiene to kids. After launching this app, users need to choose between two characters – a boy and a girl- to start exploring it. It has four activities – Laundry area, sink, bathroom and Toilet.
In the laundry area, kids need to remove the dirty clothes and put them in the washing machine. After adding detergent and switching on the machine, these clothes have to be hanged on laundry line to complete the activity. At the sink, kids turn on the water to wash their hands and brush teeth. This activity ends with combing the hair and trimming finger nails.
In the bathroom, the focus is on washing the dirty feet and hair. It has colored bath oils and shampoos for the washing job and the shower nose will rinse the hair clean. The proceedings in the toilet starts of with tapping the child to make him (or her) poop. After that, they need to use the toilet paper, flush and spray air freshener. The Grown-up stuff explains a few things to parents on how to use this app effectively.
Pepi Bath has impressive design, but I find it hard to complete some of the activities – especially the girl in the laundry area. I managed to figure it out at last, but I think the developer could include some guidance in suggestions for parents section. Apart from this, Pepi Bath is so entertaining.
This app is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation) and iPad and requires iOS 4.0 or later. I think Pepi Bath has enough fun to motivate the children to learn some cleaning habits. It also has a free Lite version.
