PowerCam – Add Professional Touch to Images

Be a seasoned photographer!

The iPhone camera offers a great way to take photos even when you’ve forgotten your camera. It is a powerful photographic tool and has the advantage of always being with you. If you like to supercharge it even more, apps are there to help.

PowerCam, an iPhone app developed by Wondershare, helps users in adding effects to their photographs. This app has a vibrant interface loaded with tons of features. After launching it, PowerCam explains how to master this interface with an infographics. It is an interesting idea, but it explains only the onscreen buttons and doesn’t help in exploring the various parts of the app. A detailed Help area would always be a handy thing to have.

Apart from images, users can also shoot videos with PowerCam. It has the option to switch between the image mode and video mode in the center of the bottom bar. Most of the other options too are located at the bottom bar of this app. Just by swiping the screen users can change the effect before snapping an image or shooting a video.

Zooming is possible with the slider located at the side of the screen. However, digital zooming is not very much advisable as the image quality would get compromised. At present, it is the only iPhone app that has  effects like Color Splash and Tilt-Shift. PowerCam saves two copies for every image (or every video) – inside the app and also inside the Photos app of the iOS. Users can avoid this by disabling the Copy to Camera Roll option from the Settings area.

PowerCam has no ads – that is something impressive for a free app! Users could get additional features with a Creative pack that is available as in-app purchase. According to the developer, this app has already crossed 30 million downloads. Therefore, the developer can afford to think about creating a community (just like Instagram) for this to take its success to the next level.

PowerCam is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad and requires iOS 4.2 or later. If you shoot a lot with your iPhone, try PowerCam and take a look at what this app can do to your photos. It is efficient, user friendly and delivers reliable and fair outcomes.
