Who Stole the Moon? – Interactive Story Book for Kids

A bedtime story with fabulous graphics!

Story telling is a great way to make learning a fun. All great teachers and leaders have used stories to teach. Kids love stories – especially the interactive ones. Let me review a kids storybook app today.

Who Stole the Moon?, a kids app developed by WindyPress, offers an interactive bedtime story that has a little mystery to amuse. In the homescreen, users can find four main sections – Read, Games, About and Songs. Read section is the story part of the app and it is advisable to use the earphones for maximum enjoyment in this section.

This story is about a little boy called Bertie Brown, who enjoys skylight in his bedroom every night. One cold evening, he finds the moon missing in the sky and it needs to be found. The full story is available in the paid version ($2.99). Who Stole the Moon? narrates this story with sound effects and little animations to motivate the kids to read.

It is also interactive, so they can do activities like moving the telescope or switching on the night lamp inside the app. The Games section has four games, but only one among them is available in the free version. That is a coloring activity, where kids can color a picture and save it in the photo library. The song area has eight original songs, while two among them are free songs. There is also a karaoke section to let the kids sing themselves.

As it has a lot of graphics, games, songs, sound effects and music, this app is a bit bulky (229 MB). Therefore, it takes time a few minutes to download. Who Stole the Moon? is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad and requires iOS 4.3 or later. Apart from English, it is available in fourteen other languages that include French, German, Italian and Chinese. The HD version of the app costs USD 4.99.

Storytelling is an art everybody should learn. It is simple yet can be incredibly powerful at times. If you are looking for a kids story that won’t let them stop reading, get Who Stole the Moon? It has wit and mystery and it is interactive. App promo video is available here.
