Klieg – A Photo Stitch Video App for iPhones

Be creative and tell a story!

Klieg is user-friendly, once you figure out the swipe this way, swipe that way navigation.  The features could be better and it does take a while to get used to the navigation.  Remembering which way to swipe to do what is the main problem.  I would have rather had a navigation menu versus the swipe navigation. The video composition use was unproblematic and painless.  I watched the navigation tutorial on Blip, which really helped me with ease of use.   Would have been nice if there would have been a little video like this when first opening the app.

You can take photos in the app or select them from your photo gallery on your device. I liked how well Klieg worked for action shot series photographs.  You can capture photos in burst mode in the app for this feature, which I really like.  There is no speed adjustment for burst mode capture, though it’s pretty close to one frame per second.

By adjusting the FPS (frames per second), you can slow down the video speed and use it for presentations and photo slide shows.  I, however, could not adjust the FPS on iPad even though it showed how on the Blip tutorial for iPhone and iPod Touch.  The option didn’t come up in the navigation instructions either like it did for iPhone and iPod Touch.

I really liked the lens filters and adjustment effects that are available to use.  There are ten basic filter options in iPad and six or seven for iPhone and iPod Touch.  The options for iPad are Original, Natura++, Grisaille, Film Noir, Goomba, Fringe, Grafica, Sparta, Morpheus and Stanley.  I believe the last three were pay for filters with iPhone and iPod Touch. There is the opportunity to purchase more filters (for $1.99) if the seven or so initial lens filters aren’t enough to satisfy your creativity.  And, with the purchase of the added filters, you get any new filters added by the developer for free.

I found the process of uploading to Facebook and Twitter simplistic and easy.  I liked that I had the option to e-mail videos or save them to my photo gallery.  I would like to see expanded social media outlets like YouTube, Blip or Vimeo, being major video outlets.  I do like that there is the option to save to photo gallery so I did the have option to upload through those sites directly.

Overall, it is a good app but could be better for iPad with some developer updates. Klieg is not available for Android as of yet, but I think I would like it on my Android phone if the developer could manage to expand it to the Android platform.

  • You actually make it appear really easy along with your
presentation but I find this topic to be really one thing which I believe I would never understand.
It kind of feels too complex and very broad for me.
I am looking ahead for your next submit, I will attempt to
    get the hang of it!
