Guess the Celebs with Fame Face

Get hooked real easily!

Do you find yourself glued to the TV when the image of a famous actor or singer splashes across the screen?  Do you wonder what’s up in their world?  We see so much of these faces that it’s almost impossible to not know them.  Some of us are great at honing in on those special features such as mole, dimple or crinkle around the eyes that create a dead giveaway when you are identifying those familiar faces.  If that’s you, then Fame Face is sure to keep you glued to your phone as you tap away tiles and guess who’s hiding behind.

To play this game, you simply tap on tiles that are neatly arranged to hide a famous face.  Each tile you tap reveals part of a hidden image.  Maybe it will be a nose, maybe an ear, or maybe just a bunch of hair.  Whatever it may be, it’s up to you to decide which tile to tap next so that you make the most of each reveal, because you only get so many.  As you process the pieces your eye detects, you can start to guess on a name using letters provided at the bottom of the screen.  Guess as much as you want, there are no penalties for this.  If after revealing the maximum allowed number of tiles you are unable to guess who it is, you can tap on the Hint icon at the very bottom right of the screen, just next to the letters.  This will give you a list of helpful hints of which one is free and the rest will cost.  The cost depends on how big of a hint you need, and will reduce your point balance by the amount shown.

How do you get those points to begin with?  Well, when you first start playing, you will see that the puzzles are quite easy and this will earn you points.  You get 10 points for guessing the person correctly, and an extra 10 for every reveal you don’t use.  So, the fewer tiles you tap, the more points you’ll get.  You can even get 150 points for free if you LIKE Fame Face on Facebook.

Fame Face was a really fun app that kept me stuck on my phone for hours on end.  I did not realize how long I’d been playing until I realized I was late for a meeting!  The faces you are asked to guess become increasingly more difficult to distinguish, because the game starts to use photos of people with sunglasses on, a profile of them or depicts them with an unusual hair color.  As the difficulty level increases, you also notice that there are more tiles to reveal, so it becomes more challenging to find those special quirks about a face to identify it.  When you get stumped and you don’t have enough points to buy a hint, you have two options: start over or buy some points.  It would be nice to have the option of knowing what level you are at and then revert back to the previous level to continue play.  This might keep players happy and connected, rather than turn them off to the game completely.

As I mentioned already, I got hooked real easily to this game, which does not happen quite often. Maybe it was because it had to do with celebrities, or maybe because it was simple.  Either way, this was a winner for me because I was competing against only myself and it kept me fully entertained!
