No shape has an undesirable outcome on the part of the player, but there are shapes that give better blows than others. Match 3 Quest starts with a screen showing two monsters, a 4 by 4 grid showing the shapes that will be in use during the game and two fair ladies floating above the grid. From here, you are taken to a menu screen where you can choose either to go to a new adventure, to the shop, to the wheel of fortune or to a sort of garage where you will be able to manage your team. The shop has bonuses that you can use to advance your characters so that they can be stronger and more powerful. On the other hand, the wheel of fortune gives you extra coins, pebbles or stronger characters that you can add on your team. However, it comes at a price since you’ll have to pay for every spin that you make. The more you play; the more gold coins you will get and the more landscapes you will be able to play in.

With the introduction of the shop and the wheel of fortune, you will be in a position to get more options for every level. If you feel lucky, you can try your luck by taking a spin of the wheel of fortune and seeing what you’ll get. If you feel like you want to go straight to the action, you have many levels to explore. You will also not play as an individual since you will have the support of your friends (three extra characters) who will take the blows with you and fire different weapons to make the battle with the monsters easier and more manageable. This way, you will be in a position to get the most out of every shape.

The only downside of Match 3 Quest is that the user interface is a bit confusing before one gets used to it.
