Follow Your Favorite Celebs with Celeb Tweet TV

It is straightforward and executes what it aims!

Celeb Tweet TV lets you keep up on all the latest from your favorite celebs. It is powered by Stevie, which basically scours for all of the social media content related to celebrities, and puts it together into its own TV channel. The app is extremely easy to use, and opens to a screen with well over 100 different little icons. Each icon has the name and picture of an actor or actress, comedian, recording artist, sports star, or other celebrity. From here, you make your selection, and enter the channel of the celeb of your choosing.

Once in the channel, you are reminded of any other news channel you would see on TV, only dedicated to the person that you have chosen. Videos related to your celeb will stream on the main part of the screen. You’ll see anything from music videos to movie clips to news interviews to fashion shows; there really is a ton of content. Below the video, posts with tags of either your celebrity or their work will be displayed for a few seconds each, before moving on to the next. A column cycles additional content on the right side of the screen. This is geared to pictures, but has the same idea: anything related to your chosen celeb is going to be shown.

This will also occasionally show what is next up in the video queue, and you can select these to change what is being played. At any point you can tap on just about anything, and if you also have the Twitter app installed, it will take you there. If you do not have it installed, you will be able to view the original post, but that’s about it. A neat little feature is that any time you navigate away from the video, it continues to roll and play the audio. You can pause it if you like, but if you’re just checking something out or want to retweet a post, you don’t need to stop listening. Along the same lines, you can tweet quickly and easily straight from Celeb Tweet TV. You can also opt to make the current video playing full screen, but if you do that, you lose the additional content from the scrolling tweets and the picture column.

So this is the basic layout of the Celeb Tweet TV, and there are a couple more nice features. From the home screen, you can go to a single person’s channel, or you can select one of the other two options. Both of these options end up going to the same channel format as described above, but with different content. The first is Celeb TV, which is pretty much a sampler. You get all sorts of current videos and tweets from your favorite celebs. The other is My faves. Each of the individual celebrity icons has a star at the bottom. By pressing the star, they are added to your favorites. By going in to My Faves, you are going into a channel that is a mix of all of your favorites’ channels.

The interface is simple, intuitive, and easy to learn and use. And if you’re like me, you’ll see something pop up that catches your eye and want to check it out quickly, but not pause the video that is currently playing. So the fact that they don’t stop playing when you are viewing another tweet is pretty nice too. And along the multi-tasking lines, to not have to leave the app to tweet something is very convenient. The only real con to Celeb Tweet TV is the design of the home screen. It’s pretty bland. Small icons with faces on an empty black background, it doesn’t necessarily grab your attention and draw you in. However, you’ll be on this screen for a short period of time, and the rest of the app looks quite nice. I’m really just being picky here.

Celeb Tweet TV is straightforward, easy to use, and executes what it aims to achieve nicely. It’s loaded with good content and will keep you busy for a while. If you’re looking for a one-stop-shop to keep up to speed with all of your favorite celebrities, this is the app to have.
