Jetpack Jelly Baby – Colorful Bouncing Fun for All

The adventures are endless!

Jetpack Jelly Baby is a colorful, imaginative game where the hero is a blob of jelly sporting a pacifier and a jetpack, floating and dodging sticky situations in a quest to reach the destination. The adventures are endless and the enticement, gripping. You’ll feel like you are flying through Candyland as you maneuver Jelly Baby around hills, fields and trees, shooting beams at monsters who suddenly appear and try to stop you. On the surface, the game seems geared for the young crowd, but once adults have a taste of this sweetly addictive game, they will not be able to put it down.

The game is free, but comes with in-app purchases that allow you to upgrade a myriad of features, such as magnets, jetpack fuel, a jumper, and magic beans. The magnet allows you to attract stars, which is important, and we will get to that soon. The jetpack fuel of course keeps Jelly Baby moving. Run out of that and you are going nowhere. The jumper of course helps Jelly Baby jump higher. This helps when trying to reach those special stars with extra points that are just out of normal jumping range, or to help overpass those nasty monsters coming in your way. Finally, the magic beans provide you protection from enemies looking to destroy your quest.

All of these options, or power-ups as they are called in the game, are available via point accumulation. Players earn points as they collect stars throughout the game. Stars can be yellow and red. The red stars get you more points, but are usually harder to reach. That’s when the jumper comes in handy! The power-ups are also available for purchase, so if you just can’t get the point accumulation fast enough, the purchasing option is there. The game provides an extremely easy to read and understand interface to see just how close you are to earning power-ups, indicating this with a bar graph of sorts. It usually takes about 5 bars to earn a power-up, and the app clearly shows you how many you have earned so far.

The game has single and multiple player modes, so you can enjoy the adventure on your own, or share it with friends. Sharing will mean having to play in an area offering Wi-Fi, so everyone can connect. The only downside to this game is the difficulty behind mastering it. Being that it is meant for kids, it should be something kids feel they have conquered or done well with in a fairly short amount of time. Not too short, or egos will balloon unnecessarily. However, I am sure the game maker would not want to turn off kids from this game. Making the mastery a bit easier to attain may retain more players.

Outside of that, Jetpack Jelly Baby is a different game experience bringing color, magic and adventure to your day. As a free game, it is certainly worth the download just to try it out.
