Possession – Take Your Game Fervor to New Heights

Smarter Game Distractions!

If you have ever been to a children’s soccer match, you know all too well those vivacious parents who think they are part of the game, or at least coaching it, when nothing could be further from the truth. We’ve all seen those moms and dads who think their loud shouts, cheers, and words of advice will actually reach the ears of players and make game-changing results. Yet, we all know they usually end up annoying fans around them. If you are one of those parents and you need a distraction to keep your focus, Possession, created by John Shackelford, is the thing for you.

Possession is a neat little app with an easy to use interface that allows you to keep track of what is going on during a soccer match. The main screen has it all, from a time keeper, to individual stats on how much time the ball was in possession with your team and with the opposing team. You can also keep track of scores for both teams. It also keeps count of shots taken and corners. The beauty of the app is that all its functionality is offered through simple taps, there is no typing in of numbers and such.

How’s that for a distraction, but a constructive distraction at that? Now, you can take your game fervor to new heights and become helpful to your team. Imagine being able to keep stats for each quarter and show them off to the coach and team when they break out on the sidelines for strategy sessions. You will be there; front and center, with an easily digestible display of stats that the coach can hone in on to help make critical decisions.

For each game, you can assign a title, enter team names, and then start keeping score. There is also the ability to email results, so you can send them out as the game progresses and at the very end when final stats have accumulated. When all is done, you save the game stats and keep them in history. This can be a valuable tool for parents, coaches, and players alike when watching how the team grows throughout the season and can be used to compare a team’s progress between seasons.

The app itself is extremely easy to use. To start, you simply select the New Game button from the main screen. From there, you can navigate to the Report page to enter the team names, and even add the gender if you wish. There is also an option on the Reports page to specify the age group of the team. Near the bottom of the Reports page, you also have the option to have the app automatically email reports.

The Stats page allows you to keep count of Goals, Shots, and Corners, for each team. The Mail page allows you to specify email recipients, so they get sent out easily to your prebuilt list. Not much negative can be said about this app, because it seems to have just about anything you would possible need to stay engaged in a game, but keep great stats at the same time. Future updates might want to include connectivity to social media, so stats can be shared real-time.

Outside of that, Possession this game is a unique way to keep cheering fans supporting their team while making a positive contribution that will actually help the team, rather than hinder it.
