If you like a good game of Gin Rummy and can’t find a partner to play with, then Best Gin Rummy from Kuralsoft is exactly what you need to download on your device! It has all of the well-known features inherent to playing Gin Rummy in a neatly packaged app. You can now take your game with you on your iPhone or iPad, and get your fix any time of the day.

With a well-place game play layout, it’s as if you are playing the game in Vegas on a real card table. Cards are easy to see and gameplay is easy to learn. This is something coming from someone who had to dig deep into long-term memory on how to play the game and was then faced with the dilemma of how to move the cards. A few taps here and there and you are all set. I did lose a card from my hand that I did not intend to give up, but mistakes help make us better, so I moved on. As a side note, there is two-tap option you can choose from Settings, so that you don’t accidentally discard a card.

Once you download Best Gin Rummy, you are taken to the main screen which is where you play the game. The cards are dealt by the app and your opponent is your device. You have your ten cards, which are placed face up, while your opponent’s are placed face down. There is stock pile and a discard pile. To play you simply tap on one pile or the other to select a card. Then tap on the card from your hand that you want to discard. The app automatically melds groupings of cards for you, which is really nice because sometimes you just don’t see what others can! If you don’t like this option, you can also turn this off in Settings.

There is also an option to Skip if you wish. I am not sure how many times you are allowed to skip, because I never used that option, but I am sure it has some use. You can even pit yourself against others by joining the Game Center and see how you fare against others. The only downside to the game is that it starts you off in the “Expert” level, and you wouldn’t even know it until you lose a few rounds. It might be best to show the level on the playing screen so you know up front, and you have a chance to make adjustments as needed. I personally set it to “Beginner” just to get a feel for the game and remember how to play it.
