SelfieAlbum – Taking Selfies in a Snap

Calling all selfie lovers out there…and who isn’t!

Sometimes you’re just in a moment that you have to share, and you are not about to leave the responsibility of capturing magical moment to just anyone. Selfies have made sharing experiences and bringing those that are not present into the here and now.

SelfieAlbum helps to keep those precious pics of you a bit organized by aligning them to a calendar that’s embedded in the app. As you snap away at yourself, in all your full glory, know full well that you will be able to find that perfect photo of you perched on a camel in the Sahara Desert, or climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, or just having the time of your life with your friends.

Pics you take after you download SelfieAlbum automatically arrange themselves chronologically. For those selfies that you took pre-SelfieAlbum, well, if you are daring enough, you can backdate them into the SelfieAlbum calendar – a neat feature allowing you to keep it all in one place. The functionality is complex and powerful, but using the app is the exact opposite. SelfieAlbum‘s interface is simple and easy to use. The main screen displays a calendar, and there are options to view your selfies by tile or by list.

What’s even better, and what makes having SelfieAlbum so important is the ease with which you can take selfies. Now, you don’t even have to cramp up your fingers as you steady your phone to angle, focus and then tap to take a pic. SelfieAlbum lets you hold your phone in one hand while you snap your fingers in the other hand to trigger the app to take a shot, leaving your other hand free to hold the phone with ease.

Once you have taken a few snaps of yourself doing some pretty amazing things, you can instantly share your moments of glory with others through links to Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. You can even tweak your takes with a bit of visual editing and textual overlaying before relaying your graphic image to the world. Take your selfie collection one step further by creating and publishing albums that chronicle what you’ve been up to and what you have seen. The app makes is easy to create an album, pull in all the photos you wish, and arrange them in a way that tells the story you want to share.

I can’t say much in the way of negative for this app, because the snap feature alone has won me over. The only downside is having to share the app with Facebook to unlock the calendar’s full capabilities, which was something I was not ready to do right away.
