Crazy Tiles World – Tile-Tapping Challenge that Tests Reaction Time

The perfect piece of entertainment!

If you like your games simple, yet challenging, look no further than Crazy Tiles World. It puts your hand-eye coordination to the test with a challenge that has you tapping away to accumulate points.

It goes like this. The game smoothly scrolls rectangular shaped tiles either upward or downward across the screen of your iPhone or iPad. The tiles are arranged four across and differ in color. Your goal is to tap all tiles that are NOT white. Tap a white tile and the game ends. Tap a non-white tile, of which there will be a variety of, and you collect one point for each tile.

As the game catches on to your finesse and ability to tap correctly, you will start to see the speed change, and possible, the direction. The size of the tiles will change, as well, making it harder to tap in just the right place. Joker tiles will be those stamped with a question mark. Tap one of those and you will reveal one of the following:

  • Red Tile: the game’s speed will increase
  • Blue Tile: the game’s speed will decrease
  • Orange Tile: scrolling direction reverses and yellow tiles that you were tapping now become black
  • Purple Tile: the size of the tiles changes
  • Double Tile: sometimes a black or yellow tile is hidden behind a joker tile. If you get one of these, you have to tap on the joker tile to reveal it, and then tap on it. If you miss it, it’s game over.
  • Shake Tile: the game stops for 1.5 seconds. In this time, you must shake your iPhone (this tile does not appear on the iPad version of the game for obvious reasons).

That’s it, in a nutshell. I have to say I was skeptical as to how entertaining this game would be, but once I started, it was hard to put it down. Everytime I missed a tile, I was determined to jump right back in to set things straight! No computer game was going to outwit me.

The only improvement that can be made to this game is to maybe make the instructions more obvious or even provide a tutorial or trial game, just so newbies can get an idea as to what’s expected and how to play. I just dove right in without knowing what I was expected to do, so it was confusing when the game ended. I stumbled upon the Help, which divulged all I needed to know, and then I was good.
