NiLi – Getting to Know a City Better

Ever been in a great city and wondered what there is to do nearby. If you live in that city, chances are you already know about the better places to go to get in on a great party, or have a great dinner; but, if you are a stranger to a place, that is no easy feat.

Thats where NiLi comes to the rescue. NiLi is NightLife made easy. Its an app that rockin and roarin in cities like Los Angeles, Las Vegas and San Francisco, offering up ideas on where to do during the day and after the sun sets.

Download NiLi and then connect into it via Facebook or Twitter. If you choose not to go that route, you can register with NiLi directly and create a profile using an email address. Once you are in, you get to see whats going on and create an experience before the event even happens, and journal about it after.

Hows that, you ask? Simply tap on Events, and then tap on the city of your choice. From there you will see a list of whats happening now and into the future. You can even view a list of events that have happened in the past. When you find an event you are interested in, you can select the Going icon to add it to your list of My Events. This way, you are organized, and your friends can see what your plans are.

Under an event, you can then make comments about the event before, during and after. It makes the event become an experience outside of the event itself all created by you and your friends. You can also post and share photos of your anticipation to attend, what you did while you were there, and picture after its all done. Its all up to you and its so easy to use.

When you start building your agenda of places and things you plan on doing over the next few weeks, you can then post your plans on Facebook seamlessly or Tweet about how excited you are to attend, provided youve linked the appropriate account.

NiLi is working on expanding to support other major cities like New York, Chicago, Miami and Seattle. For now, you can view past events in this city. I personally am looking forward to these cities and more. It would be nice if there was another way to view the list of cities, because as it stands right now, theres a lot of white space. Maybe tiling the city icons would make better use of the screen real estate. Outside of that, this app rocks.

Even though I live in Los Angeles, its hard to know what all is going on. This app makes it easy to explore a city you dont know and get to know better the city you think you do know.
