Run and Rock-it Kristie – Rockin Frolicking around Town to Reach Stardom

Gaming these days has reached heights unimagined; sometimes to the point that games can turn players away with logic so complex, its almost impossible to get anywhere. Then, along come some games that are so simple, yet challenging if you want them to be.

Run and Rock-it Kristie is just such a game. Game play is based on the basic platforming setup, where you tap on a shoe to give Kristie a boost, allowing her to jump up and avoid obstacles or snag a few stars. The pace is fast and fun and will have players glued to their screens.

Available for both the iPhone and iPad, this app is a free download and comes fully equipped with different backdrops to Kristies starring stage performance. Your aim is to get her through the setting, whether it be Summer Gigs, Fall Jams, or Winter Slides, the fun begins once you tap on the screen. Note that only Summer Gigs is available for free when you first start playing. You can unlock the other scenes once youve accumulated enough points or wish to make a few in-app purchases.

In Summer Gigs, Kristie runs down a sidewalk, past busy traffic, jumping over trash cans, boxes and more. To get her to jump higher, you must tap quickly to propel her to the next level, which might be a rooftop, a staircase on the side of a building, or a tall ladder. Tap just right, and you might hit stars, which gets you points.

The fun gets increasingly pumped up as Kristie quickens her speed and the obstacles start stacking up higher and higher. The more you play, the more you will see how to time her hops just right so that she can find the stars she needs reach stardom. Once she reaches her destination, the app will unlock some rockin scenes for you to enjoy.

What makes this game so user friendly is that she can never die. Players can keep on playing and perfecting their skills. There is no pressure and no limits a great gaming feature for those who just are not that game or tech savvy!

The graphics in the game are bright and fun, making it attractive to young and old alike. The backdrops within each season change to give a realistic effect and make the game dynamic and never boring.

Players can make small changes to preferences like music and sound by entering the Options screen from the main screen. Restoring purchases and resetting progress can also be performed here, as well.

The only downside to the game was that several screens that were advertised as free were not available to me when I first downloaded the app. There is a Fall Jam and Winter Slides option that seem to require more points to unlock and use. I was under the impression, when seeing both, that they were available to me from the get go.

No matter this will give me a challenge to try and get Kristie to the finish line and unlock those different scenes. For now, I will enjoy the 10 different stages that come with Summer!

Developer’s response:

  • Krsitie CAN die in later tours but you can play infinite number of times, no lives or energy limiters present
  • There is only ONE in-app purchase to unlock all and get new tours in updates for free. This is very important!
  • There are enemies in later stages – cacti, potted plants and even a policeman
  • The only downside to the game was that several screens that were advertised as free were not available to me when I first downloaded the appThe first tour is free as advertised.

The second and the third aren’t.
