Deep Defence takes you straight to a battlefield where you maneuver your tank around other tanks, both moving and stationary, to defend yourself against the enemy.

Tanks will come at you while fighter planes will fly overhead youll see their shadows stream across the screen. Your mission is to stay intact and take out tanks that enter your perimeter, before they get to you. Its all about the preemptive strike.

Playing the game is very simple. Once the game starts, your tank will be identified by the red dotted line shooting out of its missile gun. This line represents where your missile will hit when you fire.

To move your tank around, you tap and move around the circle that looks very much like a compass at the bottom left of the screen. As you move towards one of the arrows, this will move the tank in the direction the arrow is pointing to. If you stay on an arrow, then the tank moves forward in that direction. If you move around the perimeter of the circle, it moves the tank around by turning in one direction or the other.

I have to say that it was a little difficult maneuvering the tank around and trying to figure out how to point my gun toward a target before the target shot me. It took a few rounds, but then I got the hang of it.

The game itself is not complicated. It does not move you into different realms every time you pass a level. It does not introduce any overly complex enemies to defeat. It is purely and simply and tank fighter game.

What you do get is some enhanced armament to help you take out tanks left and right. The more tanks you take out, the stronger you get.

What was a bit tricky was trying to move and then turn the tank in enough time to strike an oncoming tank before it reached you.

Deep Defence is Game Center powered, so if you have an account, then you can play the game with fellow Game Center gamers or just play randomly with others. The benefit to Game Center is being able to see how our score stacks up to others scores to try and up your game.

The only thing I would say disappointed me with this game was the lack of instruction. The website has no description on what the game is about, what you are trying to do, and how you do it. The app itself has no instruction or tutorial either. Even just a page with a quick write up would help.

Once you play the game enough, you definitely get a sense of what needs to be done and you catch on quickly how to move your tank so you remain the last tank standing.
