Meeting people who are genuine is hard enough. The hard part is finding someone who can easily connect with based on common interests and locale. Sure, you have Facebook and other messaging media to keep you connected, but do those apps really offer a choice that makes it easy for you to find a good friend?
Hitch is what you need to get online and find fellow users who have the same interests that you have and to learn more about your world. There is wealth of knowledge out there, and its all out there for the taking.
Its a free messaging app that lets you setup your profile so others users can know what you like and what you dont like. All you do then is perform searches on topics that interest you. Join conversations taking place all around you, and if you like them enough, follow them.
Thats how you will get to know the others who are online, as you read into their contributions.
You can also chat with others who are close by. Imagine being at a concert that has just ended, and you want a quick way out of the building. You may be able to get some inside information on a back way to the exit. You could be discovering a new city on a business trip, and you have no idea where to have dinner. As you walk around, you may find others nearby who may be having the same conversation that you are having in your head, only now, you can ask them the question of where to eat.
Its basically texting with others who are not necessarily in your contact list. Its casting a big conversational net all around you, so you find other fish in the Hitch sea that you can reach out to and message with.
The fun does not stop there. I really liked being able to invite friends to conversations when I found something that they needed to be a part of.
Now, most of us are pretty busy throughout the day, so none of us has time to just sit on the app looking for something new that may have popped up on a conversation we are participating in. Thats where the ability to Follow a conversation becomes a godsend.
When you follow a conversation you will receive notifications when something pops up, so you can judge, based on the update, if you want to go into the app or not.
What sets this app apart from Facebook is that you are in command of what you want to follow and see. You get to look for what interests you most and then you get to choose which chats you are going to join. Its not like Facebook where you get everyones feed, whether youre interested in hearing about it or not.
Now, you can sign up using your Facebook profile, to make things easy, but you will still have the power to opt in or out of a messaging group as you see fit.
The only thing I would change in this app is the description of the app. It does not say anything about being hitched to someone, which is what a user can do for you. In essence, its like a blind date, but within the Hitch community. From the description, it seems like you are just going in and making choices on what you would like to do, but the notion of being hitched is a big nefarious.
Ireally liked the app just for the ability to find a new group of people to share thoughts with and to learn from. Explore, discover and connect!

Today, I went to the beach with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said "You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear." She placed the shell to her ear and
screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is
completely off topic but I had to tell someone!
