In a world that is supposedly so connected, why do so many people have a hard time finding the “right” person? Back in the day, and I mean really way back, your mom or your aunt or someone else who claimed to have a vested interest in your happiness would have taken the charge to find the right partner, and you would have been set for life.
That system doesn’t work anymore.
Now, we rely on our own experiences, friends, and brushes with people to find the person who makes us tick, who know us inside out, and the person we know we just cannot live without.
If you are one of those people who is already in a relationship, no problem; you can join Spritzr to help friends find their soul mate. Who better to suggest a potential partner than your own friends?
If you are looking for someone that has the same interests as you do, or seems like they would be a good fit, again, Spritzr will work for you.
To start, you download the app for free. At this point, and this is something that I really liked about Spritzr, you can designate yourself as a matchmaker (Maker) or as a full user (Hunter). Why would you choose? Well, if you are like me and newly married, you theoretically are not in the market for a date. However, you can be there for your best friend.
Note that Spritzr works as an app on top of Facebook. This means it works through Facebook and the folks you will see in the app will all be Facebook users.
This naturally leads us to the first requirement in using the app, you need to have a Facebook account and you will have to register as a Spritzer user using this account information.
Now, once you are in, you can search for any of your friends, once they have also downloaded Spritzr and are registered, as well. Find your friends and then find possible matches for them based on information they have submitted in their profile.
The app amps us the interest factor by adding two “scores” to profiles: Karma and Friends. The Friends of course comes from the number of Facebook friends. Karma gets counted by the number of pairings you suggest that grow to become successful. This earns you more respect and, of course, Hunters may seek you out for assistance.
As a Maker, you can matchmake for your own Facebook Friends or you can widen the playing field and spread your talent to help find pairings between anyone in the Spritzr community. If you choose a Hunter from the general pool, then you will see a photo of them along with photos of potential matches, again based on profile data.
When you think you have found a good match, simply drag the thumbnail of the potential partner over the picture of the person you seek a match for, and voila, both folks will get a happy notification.
The only shortcoming I see in the app is that it contains itself to Facebook, somewhat behaving like a Facebook plugin. I would highly recommend that the app break free of its Facebook loyalty and invite users from other sources to widen the user community and increase potential successful matches. You can still register as a Facebook user, but the app should include users from other places, even ones who do not use social media. This app is also available for iOS.
While it works great on its own, I can just imagine the heights Spritzr can reach if it opens its doors a bit wider. I could even start hosting social events where its community members can go without pressure and find their own future.
