Two Numbers Puzzle Produces More Successful Outcomes

We all know and love the popular 2048 number puzzle game where players swipe tiles left and right, up and down, to consolidate like numbered tiles into one with the next factor of two. Now, Doros has come up with its own version, which allows the merging of tiles in an extended fashion. Tiles don’t have to be in one line to merge, you can merge corner tiles into a line, as well.

At first glance, the game is easy on the eyes and on the player. If what I described above makes no sense, then you will be reassured to know that Two Numbers starts you off with an informative tutorial that explains the various ways in which tiles can be merged. Your end result, of course, is still the same – you are trying to get to the highest number and earn the highest score.

There is nothing hidden or surprising in the game. Once you complete the tutorial, you can start a game. From here you simply swipe one tile over one or more of its match, staying in one line. If you find a tile that lies against another tile, side by side, and the other tile has a match just above it, all three will merge.

Be careful not to create a situation in which many tiles are unable to be merged with another, this will get you to a loss quickly. The aim is to strategically swipe, so you open up more opportunities for further matches and a higher score.

Also remember that the tile on which you stop your swipe is the location where the new tile will sit. All other tiles around it will make their necessary shifts.

There’s no need to be a math wizard, but if you don’t know your powers of two, you will not know what tile you’ll end up with after you merge, so I suggest you brush up on that before attempting this game.

The one thing I did not like about the game, and this is not to say that it’s an error, is not knowing what direction the shifts would occur to fill in the empty spaces left after a merge. I would predict one thing and the game would do something else.

No matter, it kept me on my toes and going back for more. I was intrigued by the game and challenged to learn better ways to predict patterns and avoid merges that seemed like a great idea in the moment, but would end up haunting me in the end.

If you are looking for a simple mind teaser puzzle that helps you flex one of the more important organs you’ve got, download Two Numbers today, and see if you can get past my score of 512
