If you don’t like playing it by ear, this might be the travel app that helps you to get everything organized for your local, or international trips. No more calling here, there, and everywhere- crystal clear planning can all take place in the palm of your hand with Preparture. Signing in is made easy by using your Facebook or Google account.
The landing screen has a colorful, fun feel that says “let’s explore”. There are two main icons on the screen: One for traveling locally, and the other for travelling in the next 24 hours. Other icons in the background let you know that this app does more than just keep dates and times. Clicking on the local icon will take you to your method of travel, and from there you insert your current location and destination details.
With Google maps integration you are bound to get similar traffic-time calculations. For long distance trips there will be time added on as the app factors in traffic and processing times that customers go through before they board their flight or bus.
One of the most helpful features is selecting your own interests; the search results give you locations relating to them. When you are done, you select the Preparture button and save it to your calendar, or Preparture list. Adding it to your Preparture list, you will receive a notification telling you to set off on your journey.
In the same fashion, you can plan your international travel by clicking on the “traveling within 24 hours” icon, select how you are traveling, and begin adding your information. The app is perfect whether you are travelling for business or pleasure, as they have interests for every individual. Weather conditions will not be foreign as the temperature is displayed right at the top.
Large icons make it a cinch to navigate through the app; and with only four menu icons it’s simple to plan and keep track of all your travel plans, favourites, and settings. Preparture promises to guide you to nearby places which match your interests, and will work out the time you have available to spend at those places- ensuring that you don’t miss your flight or train!
If any hiccups occur, you don’t have to worry about changing your plans. You can easily edit, or delete your Preparture details. When it comes to your interests, you can chose up to 15, so you will have quite an array of choices when it comes to visiting around your destination. When selecting nearby places derived from your interests, you can have a look at ratings from other guests and visitors. Popularity and price levels can be viewed as well.
You can schedule with Preparture anywhere and anytime- except when you are offline. If you are not traveling alone, you can easily share your schedule with anyone via a share button.
The landing page is very colorful, and while one may get the earthy vibes, the green could be seen as too bright. Another point about color, is that the backdrop might be to vibrant for some, and it could better washed out.
If you need an app to manage your travel time, brighten up your layover, grab a bite to eat, or even do some last minute shopping, then Prepature is just the right app for you.
