O findit – I Spy Played Your Own Way

If you remember how fun it was to play I Spy with friends and family, looking around a room in which you were all gathered or out somewhere where you could pick things that were conspicuous. Now, you can play with friends and family online. How, you ask? You simply take photos of people, places and things with enough in the background to give you ample items to pick from that are not dead giveaways.

As I described above, O findit is a game that is played between two players. It’s all online and it’s powered by the pics that you upload into the game. When it’s your turn to challenge your opponent, you pick your photo and then you pick the item within the photo that they have to find.

To get started you download the free app and then immediately register yourself. This involves the basic information and email address so you can get updates and be notified when a friend invites you to play.

After you register, you can invite players. This can be through email or through username (someone who is also a user of O findit), through Facebook, and finally, you can let O findit find a random player for you to engage with!

Be sure to have some photos available to play from. You can choose photos from the device, or you can take them on the fly.

To play, you select the photo and then circle the item you want your challenger to find. Once you circle the item, I guess you type in what the item is, so the app knows the answer. You also enter three clues for the player to use. When you send the pic to your friend, they get it without the item circled and have to scan and guess the item you’ve chosen. They can then type in the item in the window at the bottom of the screen.

For every item that you spy correctly, you get points and they can add up. You can create challenges for friends and for yourself!!! Note that if you use clues, you accumulate fewer points.

What I did not like about the app is the requirement to add a Profile picture. I prefer not to add pics of myself, and I know the solution is to just upload a random pic, but this should not be a delimiting factor in using an app.

If you are detail oriented and love a good challenge, O findit is the game for you. It allows you play a simple game with one other player and engage in some good old fashioned fun!
