Get It Faster With Auction Price Finder

The whole concept of the app is pretty straight-forward.  When you want to search eBay for a particular item, you type in what you’re looking for in the search function, and from there, you can specify which country you want and what price range you’re looking to stay in.  You can also check a box that excludes the shipping cost of the item. I check that box before I search so that my average cost-per-item isn’t skewed.

The results window you end up on after you hit “go” in the search window has different tabs you can look through to see additional information the app pulled from across eBay about your item. You can look at the different categories on eB ay that the app found your searched item in, you can see the different auction listings for the item, and there’s also a tab called “Excluded” that shows you listings for items that match your search that fall above and below your price range.  If you use the Excluded tab and the Results tab (which is where you first land after entering your search), you can get a better idea if you set your price range too high or low. The Excluded tab might show a bunch of listings that are much cheaper than what you were looking for, or way more expensive, and the Results tab actually calculates the average of the listing prices it found and shows you on a graph where your price range falls.

There is also a box you can check in the search window that will only bring up the results in the BuyItNow search feature. What that means is that there are some listings where you can choose to buy the item right now if you didn’t want to try to find an active auction for your item. I personally prefer searching under the BuyItNow option first, because if what I want is available for a good price and I can get it faster, then I would obviously want to go with that instead of getting into a bidding war with a bunch of other people on a typical auction listing.   So instead of waiting a week or so to find out if you won the auction, you can get the item you want now and move on with your life.

This app lets you search for an item you might want in any of the different countries listed where eBay might be available.  You can search in auction listings for the United States, Australia, Germany, Canada, etc. So that’s great if you think what you want might be easier to find in a different country, although you need to watch the price because it’s given in the monetary denomination of that specific country you’re searching in, so you’ll need to make some calculations.
