StretchBot – Retro Platform Robot Game Engages All

A game made for players of all ages, StretchBot takes tech and throws it into the 21st century and beyond, by making him a savior of ecology. In this game, you become Stretch, and your job is to almost single-handedly undo what Kid Scientist has set out to accomplish – destroy the ecosystem and take over.

Stretch is steam-powered, so appropriate for the eco-friendly game that will have adults and kids alike set out on this essential mission. This do-gooder robot was left for dead in a junkyard of scraps and dangerous debris. While the battle itself seems impossible for one robot to handle alone, know that you are not alone. Along the way, as you play the game and work your way through the various challenge levels, you will come across a dynamic set of enviro superheroes who flock to your side.

The entire game has over 24 levels of interest-gripping gameplay that stretch across three distinct worlds. In addition to Kid Scientist being at the helm of the destruction, there are over 20 deadly robotic enemies that you must overcome. If you are into it, there are three large-scale boss fights to engage in and dominate over.

Your job is to move Stretch across the game field, moving from left to right, and jumping over obstacles that may get in your way, in the style of retro action platformer story. As you score more points, you will get access to six various character upgrades, each arming you in different ways. Controls are fairly easy, and if you are expert player of this type of game, but fair warning, that they are not as smooth as I would have liked them to be. I bit of tweaking in the next update should help this out.

If you are in need of parts to repair or strengthen your bot, and at times you will, then you can always make an in-app purchase ranging between $0.99 and $7.99 for various sized bundles of parts. I found this to be very helpful at times, as I was running out of things to rebuild with and got stuck.

As I said earlier, the app is retro, and that also applies to the graphics. If you are looking for super sharp and almost realistic effects, you won’t find that in Stretchbot. But, if you like the retro look and feel, you will be fully immersed in the experience. Sometimes those high-tech super powered graphic games take away from the actual gaming experience – Stretchbot lets you focus on the game.

If you are looking for a fun game that can be shared by all, download Stretchbot today and give it a go.
