Stringnote – Add Instant Reminders to Evernote

Notetaking has never been this easy!

Evernote is considered the king of notetaking as it allows users to store text, audio recordings, pictures and many other different kinds of files. They can access this information whenever they want. Notetaking with Evernote has become a lot easier with a new Android app.

Stringnote, developed by Kanda Software Inc., adds another interesting dimension to Evernote. After launching this app, users need to login to their Evernote account. This will launch the Evernote website. After logging in, they can get back to the app. If they don’t have an account, they need to sign up.

In the main screen of Strignote users can see Logout and Settings. By default, this app sends note to Evernote with the title Something Happened Here and the text Quick Reminder. To add a rapid reminder or notes to Evernote, users have to double click the power button of the Andoid device and the note will be sent.

Additionally, users can take a picture or record up to 15 seconds of spoken voice and add it to the note. Therefore, the idea behind Stringnote is allowing the users to take notes when they are traveling or doing any other important things. On such occasions, Stringnote will do the job for them and demands no concentration on the part of the users.

Stringnote works fine, but it has a few limitations. As this app is all about quick notetaking, most of the time users need to do some editing to their notes after saving them to Evernote. Because, it is a bit hard to edit the text and the title from the mobile as the editing window is too small – sophistication always comes with a cost! The developer is also working to integrate Facebook, Dropbox and mailing feature to Stringnote, so it won’t be dependent on Evernote forever. Let’s see!

According to the developer’s description at Google Play, Stringnote works on Smartphones with Android OS 2.0- 2.3.x, while Android OS 3.0+ is not supported in the current version. However, we checked it in a device running Android 4.0.4. It works fine without errors. Evernote users can give it a try as this app available at free of cost.
