Never forget vaccination appointments again!
Vaccination is an important thing parents can do for their babies – it improves immunity to battle against deadly diseases. Vaccination history should also be maintained such as what vaccines were used and when they were given. There is an app for this too.
Vaccine Scheduler lets users record vaccination history and future planned vaccinations. This iPhone app, developed by Babeenotes Pty Ltd, features four main areas – Home, Schedule, History and Settings. After launching it for the first time, users need to add basic information such as child’s name, country, date of birth and a photo.
The Schedule area comes with pre-installed recommended vaccination names and schedules. It uses country specific vaccination information based on the latest published information from the WHO. Vaccination information of 94 countries can be found here. (It is better to consult a physician before administering vaccines to babies) Users can customize it by adding details such as Practitioner Name, Address, Telephone, Vaccination and Date.
The History section documents the saved vaccination history of the baby. Vaccination Scheduler can be used to store details of up to 5 babies. Another impressive feature about this app is its ability to send vaccination reports to your email as PDF files. This can also remind users of their vaccination appointment with a notification.
Maybe, it is the design of the app that needs some work. It is clean, but it is not easy to navigate around. Some of the columns look too small on the iPhone. The Help section is presented as FAQ and is very limited. These are pretty small things that can be handled by the developer while updating the app. Apart from these, I think, Vaccination Scheduler is a pretty useful app.
This app is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad and requires iOS 5.0 or later. Vaccination Scheduler is optimized for iPhone 5. If you have a baby, this app is for you. Try it to see if it works for you.
