Boasts numerous options and features!
Finding the right to-do app for personal or business related tasks is about identifying an app with the perfect mix of features and flexibility. However, since people have different needs and priorities, one man’s junk…Still, there are some apps that are better than others in terms of greater flexibility and features such as better synching options, notifications, reminders etc. When determining the best task management app, you need an app that can be used to plan big projects but at the same time simple enough for handling regular tasks.
Although Apple’s built in Reminders app was first introduced in 2011, it still feels incomplete. Touted as more of an alarm clock by critics, the Apple’s reminder app has definitely a long way to go. On the other hand, TodoCard by Kenji Hamada boasts numerous options and features making it more feasible than Apple’s.
Described as a task management app with a card based user interface, it easy to see why this app is quickly becoming an iTunes App store favorite. Due to the rise of mobile technologies, Card UI is effectively engineering a re-architecture of the web. Major organizations including Google (think Google now), Twitter, Pinterest etc are already switching to Card UI. And don’t forget that majority of iOS 7 is card based. The aesthetic appeal introduced by the Card based User Interface on TodoCard is clearly evident.
In a bid to personalize and make the app more user friendly, the developers have introduced more features. For example the app comes bundled with random background images from 500 pixels. You also get to pick your own favorite font. Although the Reminders app is rarely used due to its numerous shortcomings, you can still sync TodoCard with it via iCloud. You can also share a task or a list of tasks on social media (Twitter and Facebook) or through SMS/email. This allows you to create a shared list with your friends/colleagues and notify each other of upcoming events, meetings etc.
Another cool feature developers will love is the ability to call on TodoCard from other apps using custom URL scheme. Simply put, a custom URL scheme allows users to open an app from other apps or force an app to perform certain actions as it opens. For example, clicking an iTunes link will open the iTunes app and automatically play the song specified in the link. Another advantage is that it allows the app to integrate seamlessly with built-in system apps providing the user with a more fluid experience.
Even though TodoCard is essentially a task management app, it boasts other features unique to other apps in this category. For example you can jot down little notes during meetings or even create and email memos. The app is compatible on all devices running iOS 7 or later including iPhones, iPads and the iPod touch. However, it is specifically optimized for iPhone 5 which means users are guaranteed a better experience. This is especially the case since the app is a bit bulky (36.3 MB). This means that older iPhones might experience a slight lag when using the app.
