Lulu in Polynesia – Explore and Get Educated

Interact with the exciting illustrations!

Getting kids book apps is a great way to engage children with story telling. Most of them come with cute animations and voices and a small story to educate. If you are frustrated in finding a good app for your kids, this review could lead you in the right way.

Lulu in Polynesia, an iPhone app, helps kids explore Polynesia with two interesting characters – Lulu and her kitten Zazou. And a bird called Chirpy is also there on every page to seek the attention of the users. The mainscreen has an animated map of the Polynesian islands to facilitate kids to easily navigate through various sections of the app.

Alternatively, the forward and back arrows are also present in all the pages of the book. The text in the page explains the scene briefly while the background voice explains everything in detail. Some of the pages have conversation between characters to spice things up. The sound can be disabled, but it is not advisable.

Lulu in Polynesia also has small games to motivate the children to explore more. Even though this app is very easy to use, it has a detailed Help section – pretty impressive! Apart from English there is also French narration. The idea is impressive, animations are great and the interface looks attractive – this app is really charming and can keep the kids entertained for hours!

As it is a universal app, the design must be convincing both on the phone screen and the tablet screen. Therefore, I can’t really point it out as a downside.

Lulu in Polynesia is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad and requires iOS 4.0 or later. This app, developed by ZANZIBOOK, is the second one in the series of Lulu and Zazau. We checked the first version and it works fine without any errors. Lulu in Polynesia is entertaining and is a great way to introduce Polynesia to children.
