Hypnomatic, developed by Wisteria, is an iPhone app that helps people solve psychological problems through preloaded hypnosis lessons. This app has four main sections – Science, My Sessions, Store and Settings. Science section explains some basic facts on hypnosis like History, Hypnability, Concept and Instruction. Reading these facts would give users a better understanding on hypnosis.
My Session is the main section where users could find three free hypnosis sessions –BigCity, Sports and Relaxation. Each of these sessions has an exclusive purpose. Therefore, users need to read the instructions before entering into any session. Apart from the free sessions, they could also get up to 21 more sessions through in-app purchases. It has sessions even for things like stopping the internal dialogue, focusing on studies and getting rid of making acquaintances too. Interesting!
Before start using this app, users need to visit the Settings area to input details like weight, height, sex, age and language. I think, these things would optimize and personalize the app for better performance. According to the developer, these sessions would not produce instant effect and it needs regular practice.
The interface is pretty simple, but some areas need the attention of the designers I think. For example, Science section has a lot of details so it can be presented in a better way to make users read. They could spice up this area by adding a few images, using font hierarchy etc., Apart from this small downside, we couldn’t find any issues with Hypnomatic.
Hynomatic is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation) and iPad and requires iOS 4.0 or later.
