Color Bounce PRO isn’t one of those games that requires tactical thinking, and players won’t be unlocking secret weapons to move on to the next quest. But while the game may not require much strategy, it will test your reflexes and your focus. Plus, it’s easy to learn since the concept is simple.

The game revolves around a bouncing ball. As the ball moves forward, your job is to tap the screen and make it bounce off the multicolor, striped ground. The key: The color of the ground must match the color of the ball. So, if your ball is green, it can only touch the green stripes on the ground.

Sounds easy, right? But the striped, multi-colored floor is difficult to navigate, and the color of the ball changes constantly during play. When the ball bounces on the right color, it keeps moving forward, but if it lands on the wrong color, game over.

Fast reflexes and sharp focus are required to progress. The stripes on the ground are different sizes, and they don’t come in any certain pattern, so you have to make sure to be aware of what color the ball is and what stripe it’s about to land on. Some stripes may be too narrow to land the ball on while others may be too far away for the ball to reach in one bounce.

The ball also moves fast, and gauging how soon you have to tap the screen can also be difficult. Tap too soon or too late and you may miss the correct color. Lose your focus and you may find yourself bouncing a yellow ball off of a blue stripe. When that happens, you’re back at the beginning.

It can take a few tries to build up the skills needed to last longer than a few seconds, but once you are past the clumsy beginner stage, things get easier and the game becomes more enjoyable.

Part of the enjoyment comes from the game’s simplicity. The design itself is basic yet eye-catching. The backdrop is white, so it’s easy to stay focused on the colors of the ball and the stripes instead of becoming distracted by a complex background.

The app is free to download, although it does have frequent advertisements between each round. If you aren’t very good at the game, then you’ll see the advertisements frequently since you’re constantly losing, but if you manage to develop some skills, you’ll hardly notice them as the play goes on.

Color Bounce can quite easily become addicting. It’s easy to play when you’re on the go waiting in line while shopping or during breaks between work. But it’s just as fun to play when you have nothing to do, and you may find yourself playing through an entire afternoon and evening. It’s a single-player game, but you can gather a group of your friends and compete to see who can get the highest score. The lowest score has to buy dinner.

Remember, though: Only players with fast reflexes will be able to get those coveted high scores. The ball moves fast, and the stripes on the ground can be small. You’ll have to work hard if you want to develop your skills, but don’t worry, it’s worth it.
