Asks to Dump IE 6
The popular content management system WordPress has dropped supporting IE 6 with its latest Version 3.2.
WordPress, an open-source blogging platform popularly used around the world for online publishing, was developed by an American web development corporation Automattic. It has been updated to version 3.2 ‘Gershwin’.
Gershwin comes with number of updates to make the software faster and lighter. This new update comes at the cost of compatibility. WordPress 3.2 will only support PHP version 5.2.4 or greater and MySQL version 5.0 or greater and its dashboard won’t work in IE 6. It also has a default new theme called Twenty Eleven which offers lots of options for easy customization. The ‘just write’ editor ‘zen’ fades all other buttons and helps concentrate on writing.
According to web development experts, Gershwin brings some much-needed improvements to the platform.
