Fit the Picture – Unpuzzle the Pieces to Make a Picture

Love simple games? Looking for a quick and easy game to play to give your brain a break from whatever it is you are focused on? Get to Fit the Picture now! It’s a fun little app that keeps minds young and old a little distracted from whatever is going on and lets you bring attention to something else so you can get back to it with a fresher mindset.

In a nutshell, Fit the Picture is a puzzle app laid out as a grid of squares. Each square represents a part of a picture. The squares, of course, are jumbled up. Your job is to place each square where it belongs on the grid, until you have completed the picture.

The funny thing with this jigsaw puzzle game is that most of the finished picture is already completed. You usually don’t see that in a game, but hey, who’s to complain?

This nice feature makes it easier for the younger fans to feel like they have completed something, without getting frustrated.

The app is a free download and comes jam packed with 750 puzzles. Images include ones from nature, so they are sure to provide a calming effect.

That seems to be the goal of the app makers – making an app that is an activity one can perform to help them move away from one brain activity, giving it a rest, so that you can go back to it with a new perspective and recharged mind.

When you first download the app, you will see two options: Play and Settings. In Settings, you can turn the Sound off/on. There are several lines on this screen, so it seems that more setting controls are yet to come.

Select Play and you will see a list of puzzle categories, starting at Level 1 and reaching Level 15. What I found interesting was that you could play at any level you wanted. You did not have to start and complete Level 1 before moving on to Level 2, and so on. Another nice feature is that each level has 50 puzzles and the app keeps track of how many of those 50 you have completed.

One thing to note is that as you move up in levels, the number of squares increases. You start off with a 3×3 grid and end at a 6×6 grid. Nothing to worry about, but it’s nice to know that the puzzles will pose somewhat of a challenge as you grow better.

While I found the puzzle fixing to be calming, I do wish there were more interesting images to complete. After some time, you grow tired of looking at the same genre of image.

This puzzle has done wonders for me in terms of allowing be to mentally move away from something I can’t solve or understand, allowing me to “take a break” and come back and see the issue in a new light. It has also helped me relax and regain composure at times when both are tested. It’s a definite download if you want to add some positive reinforcement to your day.
