Get your favorites on the go!
When you are in travel, finding a good restaurant won’t be an easy task. Especially, if you are hungry and have only a limited amount of money, it would become even harder. Maps can show you the way, but what about the menu and the budget. Wait! I have a suggestion.
Find Me Food!, an iPhone app, helps users find the restaurants and offers them the menu. After launching this app, users need to set the budget (they can also include sales tax) and the distance. Once they tap the Find Me Food! button, this app would come with a list of all the available restaurants.
By tapping on the name of the restaurants, users could find the locations of the restaurant and get the menu. The Menu option presents the price of the food items and lets users select their favorites to get the total. [pullquote]This app is also well integrated with the Maps, so finding the way to the restaurant would be a breeze. [/pullquote]
The UI of Find Me Food! is very friendly and pretty simple to use, but it lacks the elements of attraction I think. As you guess, this app needs active Internet connection and the location services should be turned on. If you are a frequent traveler, you should get this app and I assure, you won’t regret.
Find Me Food! is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation) and iPad and it requires iOS 4.0 or later. This app is pretty slim (1.3 MB). According to the iTunes page description, this weekend, users can get this app for free. However, when I am writing this (Saturday 11 AM) it is available for USD 1.99.
Developer’s feedback: The review says that the app requires an active internet connection to function, but this is not true. If the device has an active internet connection, then the app is able to query Google Places for restaurant addresses near you. However, if the device does not have an active connection, the app skips this step, and just presents all possible restaurants that you can afford (without filtering out things that aren’t within your search radius).
