With internet and online dating becoming more popular and replacing the old fashioned stereotype of dating, My Cupid is for the feisty and flirty crowd looking to spark something between them and another user. The user is given the ability to search and find other users like them. They are able to find a range of people who fit within their criteria.

There is a map interface that shows the user where people are by using a picture of them and how far away they are. If the user is interested in what they initially see, they are able to click on the profile picture and it brings them to that opposing user’s profile where they can look more into them, and choose to connect personally or not. If there is more than one person in a certain location, the map will show the location with the most popular user in that area and then show how many people are also in that locale.

This app is maxed out with the four different dating venues: cupid, datetheuk, girlsdateforfree, and quickflirt. It only takes one log in to access all four of these databases. My Cupid provides the user with the ability to create a free profile with fundamental information (name, age, location, etc.) and simply begin searching for those who you want to connect with.

Secondly, this application gives the user access to a location-based search and location-based chat rooms. The user has the ability to chat with one person or multiple people from all around the globe. They are also able to access that other users profile to see if they want to pursue talking with them. If the user pursues talking with someone they are interested in, there are an unlimited amount of winks that can be sent, and a notification feature that will tell the user when someone is trying to get a hold of them personally.

My Cupid also provides the frequent traveler the ability to contact the locals in the area to which they are traveling. They are able to just chat and find information about what the popular places are in the area, and possibly score a date. For the UK users the app offers reward points for the activity within the app.

The user is also able to link up their facebook, making it easier to log in or to connect further with people of interest. And with the new 2.8 version the user is able to search for recent matches or connections, or to search in detail (age, sex, location, name, etc.) for someone to unite with.

The premium version is available at $13.99 per 7 days, $31.99 a month, $54.99 per 3 months, $74.99 per 6 months, or $99.99 a year depending on what the user has selected. The subscription will automatically renew unless the iTunes user cancels their subscriptions.  Until a user pays messages flow in like a river, and once the money is transferred from iTunes, the messages cease. Additionally, these users then cancel their subscriptions and start to receive messages again.

Another thing to look out for is the type of people the user connects with. Like any other type of online dating, there is always a chance for user to be chatting with someone who is not who they say they are. There are fake profiles, fake people, and bots who take part in this app as well. Users beware.
