Spree Pop is a straightforward mobile game that I really liked. It’s a stripped down, arcade shooter that supports iPhone X and iOS 11. The game features clean, colorful visuals and fun game mechanics. Besides, Spree Pop fun time is dominated by the sprightly soundtrack which makes the game so addictive that once you pop, it’s irresistible.
It’s remarkably easy to pick up and play for this game but putting it down is the exact opposite. Its entire set up may be too simplistic for avid mobile gamers, and its bare-bones might not be the best for some player too. But personally, this is my type of game, the only aspect that didn’t go well with my taste is the distracting ads. However, this should not be a major worry; you can remove the ads with a onetime IAP which is pocket-friendly.
Spree Pop gives you the opportunity to enjoy an escapade in the unknown world. It lets you fly through the space piloting a dinky orange spaceship. Your task is to destroy the endless wave of red-eyed monsters called sprees. You should fire as many sprees as you can to survive and score as many points as possible.
The sprees are labeled with different numbers that indicate their health. The objective is to take down the weaker sprees and learn the tricks to take the real monsters. Some of these sprees drop vital powerups when destroyed. The powerups will temporarily improve your chances of making it to the top. They boost your range of fire and spaceship’s rate as well as slow down the prevailing wave of monsters.
As you sail through you will enjoy destroying the monsters. It’s fun watching the sprees explode like party popper and change color like fireworks in the darkest sky.
Spree Pop is not the usual arcade game, it’s full of fun, and it’s highly addictive. The game stands out thanks to its simplistic nature and basic designs for bullets, spaceship, and the monster. Its bright and eye-catching colors coupled with the sound effects deliver the perfect retro feel.
One thing I found unique is the self-flying spaceship. This lets you concentrate on selecting your path and firing bullets in your flight path. The intuitive one-touch game control is also impressive. It’s pretty easy to steer the spaceship right or left while gunning down the aliens hurtling towards you. In addition, the rules of the game are not as difficult as I thought. However, although they are easy to learn it took me time to master them all.
Aside from the annoying ads, this game demand some bit of skills. You must choose your flight path wisely and ensure you take down aliens with lower health to stay on course and avoid crashing to death.
Although the game concept is borrowed from Space Invaders, Spree Pop is an incredible pass time.
